I’ve already done the shopping around so you don’t have to (unless you want to…)
Here are my top 5 favorite fall baby and toddler fashion must-haves that I am so glad I have in my daughter’s closet right now!
#1. Sweater Knit Leggings (for baby or toddler)
If there is one staple you need for your little girl to be fashionable this fall, it’s sweater knit leggings! They go so great with sweaters, tunics, and under dresses.
I found it surprisingly difficult to find the type of leggings that I wanted for my little girl. She is just beginning to learn to stand and walk so I wanted them to be footless so she wouldn’t slip when standing in the house. Many for sale have feet so I waded through a lot.
I did a lot of searching and the very best ones I could find are these Cable Knit Ankle Leggings.
This is a multicolored 6 pack and there isn’t a stinker among the colors. I love the classic black, white, and grey, plus the mustard and plum which are perfect for fall, and the classic blush pink as well.
I own this pack and I will vouch that the quality of these is great. You will not regret these cuties.
Go ahead and buy these a size up. They will still fit your smaller baby if you cuff the bottoms, and then you can use them for a couple or even several seasons!
#2. Black Ankle Boots (for baby or toddler)
I knew to set off the sweater leggings I also wanted a pair of ankle boots. Again, I found it difficult to find the style I wanted that came in a size small enough for my girl. I looked for quite a while! I found these super stylish black ankle boots made by Carter’s and I love them! They have them in brown too which I honestly didn’t know until I was finding the link just now—woo!
I want these in my size.
They look great with sweater/legging combos and also counter-style feminine dresses nicely.
#3. Neutral Bodysuits (for baby or toddler)
These Hanes neutral stretchy bodysuits (long sleeve onesies) are perfect for underneath overalls or rompers! I honestly didn’t have any Hanes baby clothes, but I was very happy to find that the quality of these is super.
Here is my little one rocking the solid white under some lightweight overalls in early fall. (First time on a swing in this picture :))
They are very stretchy, have the crossover piece at the shoulders that I like (so you can take off the onesie down the baby’s body instead of over the head if you want) and they feel very strong and well-made.
This particular pack is all neutral with gray, black, and white, with two striped pieces that will work great under any solid jean or corduroy romper for fall. They do come in lots of colors as well though!
Because these are so comfy, I also use these for her to sleep in under her sleep sack, so I am going to order another pack for myself right now actually.
#4. Cable Knit Pullover Sweater (for baby or toddler)
Like mother, like daughter. To complete her fall wardrobe I had to get her a chunky cable knit sweater.
Here is my little one rocking the white version (with her black knit leggings from above!)
The quality of this piece by Winnikids is really really nice. I was very happy with it. I went with the white thinking it would go with lots of her leggings and pants and reasoned that if it was a true white I could always bleach spot-treat it. I haven’t had to yet. There is also a cute red, navy, pink, and burnt yellow. These sweaters are actually gender-neutral and would look adorable for boys as well.
They come in either lined with fleece or not lined, and also either turtleneck style or crew neck. I chose the unlined crew neck style. I was happy with the thickness of the sweater and the feel of it.
#5. Fall Colored Headbands (for baby or toddler)
These stretchy nylon headband bows are a great color swatch for fall. I love that it includes black, white, navy and olive green as well as the deep yellow, orange, and purple.
These fit babies or toddlers since they are so stretchy.
I love the ribbed, knitted look!
I hope you love these baby & toddler girl fall fashion pieces as much as I do. Let me know if you have found other awesome fall pieces in the comments below.
